1. What is Discipleship?
Becoming more and more like Jesus.
What do we, at First Reformed Church, believe about discipleship?
- We believe discipleship is lifelong.
- We believe discipleship results in transformation by the Holy Spirit.
- We believe discipleship is our response to God’s mission.
- We believe discipleship happens both individually and in relationships.
2. What is the vision for adult discipleship?
To invite and enable every adult in the First Reformed Church family to grow in intimacy with God, experience God’s truth, and respond to God’s mission through Free Market Cell Small Group Ministry.
3. What are Free Market Cell Ministries?
Free Market Cells are small groups of people that meet weekly or bi-weekly around a shared interest. We believe that as people gather around an area they are passionate about, discipleship can happen through strong, intentional relationships. This helps us reach people where they are – at any point in discipleship, whether they have been believers for many years or they are not even sure where their faith lies. Free Market Cells build a culture of opportunity and give us freedom to reach across five generations of our church family to be strong, connected body that impacts our culture and community.
4. How often do new groups start?
Free Market Cells are set up in semesters like the school year.
