NEXT week at Connect@6:05 we’ve been talking about the importance of fellowship and community. On May 29th we will be living this out. Join us at 6:05 on the 29th for Connect@6:05 game night in the Coffee House. A great time to get to know people that attend the Connct@6:05 service that you may not already know.

Mark your calendars for “Prayer: Seeking a Heart Formed After God’s Own Heart”. We’ll be holding special prayer services throughout the month of June and the beginning of July that will focus on the power of prayer. These services will not only be speaking about prayer but will allow you to experience prayer as you interact in a range of special prayer activities. If weather permits we plan to hold all of these services outside on the church lawn. Please join us on these special dates.

June 5th—The Power of Prayer

June 12th—Lectio Divina (praying the Word)

June 19th—The Labyrinth

(praying through the journey)

June 26th—Prayer Journaling (prayers of the heart)

July 3rd—Prayer Walk

(surrounding the community in prayer)

First Youth

Junior High Please note: Wednesday, May 19, fun night is rescheduled for Friday, June 11!  We will be going to All-Play in Des Moines.  2 pm – 7 pm.  If students can’t get a ride to the church, we will be doing pick-ups.  More details to come!

Africa Team meeting: May 23

Sunday morning from 10-11:00 am in The Lodge.

Snacks for the Place Sign up at the FRC Happenin’ Headquarters.

Sister to Sister May Mission is the collection of Soap & Suds for Hope Ministries.  Some items needed are:  laundry detergent, bleach, fabric softener sheets, dishwashing soap, sponges, dishcloths and towels, body wash and bath soap, shampoo and conditioner, baby wash and wipes, anything that cleans.  Items can be placed in the box in the lobby.

Meals on Wheels FRC is responsible for delivering Meals on Wheels June 21-July 2.  Please sign up at the FRC Happenin’ Headquarters in the lobby if you can help in this way.

Save the Date—June 28-July 1, Angel Tree Camp Meals will once again be served at FRC.  A sign up sheet and information on how you can help will be coming soon.

Sweets for Swazi—Order some sweets for the summer holidays!  Cupcakes—$8.00 per 1/2 dozen, Cheesecakes—$25.00. See the table in the lobby for the flavors offered and to order.  Questions—ask Monica or Cheryl Newendorp.

Kitchen Cleaning—Wednesday, June 2 at 8:30 am. Please come and help!

“In Memory” memorial forms are in your mailboxes today.  If you desire to honor the memory of a loved one, please return your completed form along with your donation for Hope Ministries, to the church office by June 1.  The Service of Remembrance will be held Sunday, June 6 at 4 p.m.

VBS Volunteers Needed! This year June 14-18 is the week of VBS.  We will need lots of volunteers so please sign up Today!  Sign up sheets are available at the FRC Happenin Headquarters.  Let’s bless the kids during the week of VBS with your smilesJ  If you can’t volunteer every day of the week, we will still need your help.  If you have any questions please contact Travis Albers 628-3493

VBS is again looking for donations of items needed for crafts and snacks. The list is available at the FRC Happenin’ Headquarters.  Sign up ASAP.  Bring the items to the box in the kitchen on the lower level by Wednesday, June 9.

VBS Registration—Did you miss the carnival?  Registrations slips are in mailboxes; if you did not receive one see Travis.  Slips need to be returned today.

A BIG THANK YOU to all of you who attended the Vacation Bible School work night.  We had a great turnout!  We completed every item of work and much more.  Thank you again to all who were able to make it.

Day Camp with Mr. Travis—Kids who will be in 1st-4th grade are welcome to sign up to attend a Lake View Day Camp with Mr. Travis.  It will be held July 12-14 at White Breast Recreational area from 9:30 to 4:00 each day.  Cost will be $95 for all three days of crafts, adventure, games and fun.  Cost includes a t-shirt and transportation from church to White Breast.  For sign up sheets see Mr. Travis or Jill in the church office.

Memorial Day Service at the Pella Memorial Building on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Sponsored by Howard D.Versteeg Post 5242, VFW Van Veen/Van Hemert, American Legion Post #89, American Legion Auxiliary #89.

FRENZY’s Coming…Save the evening of Friday, July 9 for a Garden Walk.  More details will be coming.  Invite your FREN’s (Friends, Relatives, Employer/ee, Neighbor).

YAM (Young Adult Ministry) Camp Out—Coming June 25-27.  More information will be coming.  Plan now to attend.

Reminder—Offices will be closed on Monday, May 31 for Memorial Day.

We express Christian Sympathy to the families of Esther Van Houweling and Gerdena Bandstra and pray for God’s Comfort and Presence at this time of loss.

Continue in prayer for healing for Mary De Vries following knee surgery.

Pray for Gerald Van Houweling at the Pella Hospital.

Pray for our High School graduates as they have their Baccalaureate and Commencement Services this week.
